pre-launch of the 16th Italian Film Festival at BAFTA in Piccadilly

The pre-launch of the Italian Film Festival at the British Academy
of Film and Television Arts, 195 Piccadilly, London on 16 April
when director Pupi Avati (second left) received
two awards to recognise the value of his contribution to Italian
cinema and putting it on the world arena. He introduced
a screening of his film Giovanna's
Father before a packed house. One of the awards
was designed specially by artist Andrea Roggi (background far
right). The main line-up (above, from left), Richard Mowe, IFF
co-director and co-founder, Pupi Avati, journalist and translator
Giorgia Scaturro and associate IFF director and sponsorship director
Clara Caleo Green.

LAUNCH OF THE 16TH FESTIVAL IN EDINBURGH

TALK TIME: Guests listen attentively as Allan Hunter, IFF
co-director, delivers his traditional welcome
at a reception at Centotre in Edinburgh's George Street,
hosted by Carina and Victor Contini and Dr Luigino Zecchin,
director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh.
Guests continued to Filmhouse for a screening of
Giovanna's Father.
